I love turning bowls, but I make enough money from making game calls to support my turning needs. Here is a picture of a turkey call and a few crow calls that I turn out. Making the insert for the crow calls is the hard part of making them.

Lookin good!
BTW, are there detailed explanations for making turkey/crow calls? i'd like to make a couple just for fun. Perhaps try them out on some ... crows.

Beautiful! People don't actually take those out in the woods and get them dirty and scratched up, do they!!

Thanks everyone,
I used a crow call that I had that was not made anymore to start making my crow calls. I changed the shape to fit ones hand better. I asked questions on a forum called "custom calls online" to figure out how to make the turkey calls. I order the slate from Pen Big Bed Slate to make the turkey calls. It runs $1.40 a piece aready cut to size and it takes two for each call. You should be able to find a book at this site to help make them.
