Ibought a skil jig saw for a home project and almost made it to the end of the cut when the blade dead headed out and snaped the main gear shaft on the inside......I tore it apart and left it for a few months. Anyway I was out cleaning up the shop today and paused before throwing the saw in the trash....pulled the broken shaft out and Eureka! found a 8MM dowel that fit perfectly.(Us diemakers have those sort of things on hand) Loctited the dowel in and reassembled the saw and plugged it in...Big sparks....hooked the wires up wrong.(Us diemakers are not electricians)......Anyone need a skil jig saw for parts sans circuit board.......another wasted hour.......:(
