View Full Version : Anyone built the Popular Mechanics November 2004 Workbench?

Just wondering if anyone has built the workbench from this magazine, here is a link to the article:

I would like to build this one. I have a 2' x 5' maple butche block that I will be using for the top and then adding on end caps to get an extra bit of width and length.

Any suggestions or tips would be appreciated.

I haven't built it, but it looks similar to a design I used about 12 years ago and still use. My tip is if you intend to tear it down for moving in the future, use the bolts as they have. If not.. use tenons and through tenons. You could pin them as an option.. but with that much glue space they should be fine.

I was looking at this as my next project but was trying to find more detail drawings do you know if they are available?
