Bill, Eucled has been doing this type of work for quite a few years. I almost had him talked into demonstrating at the '09 AAW Symposium in Albuquerque. Just a few weeks ago, as much as he wanted to, he decided that he couldn't do it. Big disappointment. He does "have a way" with tiny pieces of wood.

That's amazing work!!!!! I wonder how one can learn how to do that?? Not commercially, but only for family members.

I'm not sure how they do that and she was kind of stand offish when i asked questions. I do know she sold a piece at the show for 6000 bucks though.

Don't worry Dennis, I aint skeerd:D I came back with a whole bunch of new ideas from artists that do metal, bronze, wood and many more materials. Now I just have to decide what to do next.:D

Keep me informed as I'd like to try some materials like that.

Wow.. at 30k glass beads those platter must cost about $1500 to make. Incredible workmanship.

Could you tell if they were "buried" in CA or epoxy? I'm very curious if they're placed and sanded or placed as the final step after everything else is done.

I believe it would be the last step. They're placed with the holes facing you. I think you could load a pin with a bunch of beads in the order you would be placing them and do it rather quickly.

Driftwood TX, is close to my hometown of San Antonio and right nearby Austin. I'm going to try to find out if the pieces are on display around here.
