View Full Version : In need of drawer slides

I attended Woodcraft's 15% off sale on Saturday and came away with the right stuff for my father, all the wrong stuff for me, stuck out (out of stock) on other stuff that would have also been the wrong size. Atleast I came home with my new 16-32 drum sander. That's a NICE machine. (I'll officially gloat about that later)

I picked up the Accuride drawer slides in all the wrong length and even with the 15% off they were still more than I wanted to pay. So my questions to you all are:

1. Which manufacturer drawer slides do you use?

2. Where do you buy your drawer slides? (hopefully somewhere cheaper than I've been looking)

Thank you for your responses.

Accuride at Rockler or Woodcraft is one of your more expensive options. McFeely's has deals on Mepla in boxes of 10 as do others. For example; 22" seem to be right around $9 a pair from various sources so the shipping and tax become the deciding factor.

Somebody else posted about Gliderite a few days ago. (www.gliderite.com) The prices look good, as does the quality, but I don't know from personal experience. It also looks like they only sell in quantities of 10 pair minimum, so if you only need a couple pair they might not be the best choice.

I have been using Mepla from McFeelys lately. I started out with Acuride and decided to give the Melpas a try based on cost and was pleasantly surprised by their quality.

Blum Tandems #1, and if pressed Accurides, although Accuride did come out with a side mount self closing slide that is pretty darn nice, especially for the $$$. Woodworker's Hardware.com is the place to buy everything - if they don't have it, you don't need it.

I got a box of 10 pairs of 22", 100#, full extension slides from Gliderite. Purchased them on Ebay. With shipping I paid around $60. I haven't used them yet but they seem fine.

I also purchased a box of 15 pairs Ferrari slides last week. With tax (bought locally) the box was $75. Haven't used any of these yet either but they seem fine.

I've been using the Custom service hardware slides on the last couple kitchens. I have them on my pantry which has a year or two of service now with big drawers (20 deep x 33 wide) and they are great so far.

Plus the price is right.

I have purchased gliderite and PMIINC off of ebay very pleased with both of them, excellent price and product. The PMIINC seem to slide a little easier than the gliderite.
