Here is a bowl turned from a birch burl. It is one of five I cored from the blank. This bowl is 14" in dia. and 6"deep.

Very nice bowl Jack! Love the size of this one! The wood is exceptional and displays a lot of movement! Very nice work - looking forward to seeing the mates to it!

Right on Jack, nice form. Very seldom a dull moment with older birch, the grain and color are superb, you did it justice for sure.

Thanks for all the compliments. The thickness is very thin on this bowl. The coolest thing to me is when one looks down into the bottom of this bowl it looks as if the bottom is lower than the surface it is setting on. This was the second largest bowl I cored from this blank. The largest warped so bad that I had to cut about half the height off to bring it back to round. I will post a picture of it when I get a chance.
