Your typical two-car gara... um, shop.

Starting in the southwest corner and working clockwise:

The router table:

The mitersaw bench, including the mortiser and where my bowl blanks are stored:

Next is my main workbench and vortex area with "His Normness" overseeing everything:

Next is my drill press and clamp rack:

Then the jointer and air compressor:

The DC, drum sander, planer and lumber rack:

My bandsaws and clamp cart:

And in the center of the room, "The General":

and my assembly/work/lumber bench:

As you've probably noticed, I've still got to get my DC ductwork straightened out. It's on my list... :(

That concludes our tour, thanks for visiting!

Nice shop. How do you like the Jet/Performax 16/32 sander?

I like it a lot. It's great for end-grain cutting boards. The biggest issue I've had with it is keeping the conveyor belt running straight. It wants to shift side to side. I think I've got it now though.

That Hitachi miter saw cracks me up. :) Very nice shop, I love all the shop furniture you made.

Nice home away from home Keith.

Are you running 5" flex hose to the PVC or 4". Looks identical to my HF DC with the Wynn filter.

Shanks for sharing.

NICE organized shop, Keith.

How do you like your Yorkcraft jointer?

I see you've relocated your sandpaper holder to the wall....Did you get rid of the "ghetto looking" free low budget mobile planer cart? :D I also notice you aren't using dryer duct hose anymore! ;) http://www.sawmillcreek.org/showpost.php?p=536880&postcount=10

Yeah, it's definitely an alien-looking thing! I'm not crazy about the looks of it, but it cuts great.

Greg,

I'm using 4" throughout. My DC is actually a Grizzley 1029Z. I used to have the HFDC, but I got a real good deal on the 1029Z, so I gave the HFDC to my brother. As a true 2hp DC, the Grizz has a little more oomph than the HF had.

I'd like to upgrade my main ducting to 6", but since I have a trashcan separator, I can't. I've been toying with using the motor and impeller from the Grizz and building a cyclone, but I don't know if that'll ever happen.

Mike,

I really like the Yorkcraft jointer, it's probably one of my favorite tools. I got it while it was on sale, so the price was right too. Too bad they're not making them anymore.

Ah, so you remember the "ghetto cart" huh? Seems like my shop is continually undergoing changes. Actually, I painted the cart black and it now resides under my mitersaw bench. I basically utilize it as a paint locker. BTW, I still do have a length of dryer duct hose going to the mitersaw. Don't knock it until you try it, it works great! :D

Nice shop Keith. It looks like you have all the necessary tools and you can still move around – no small feat in a garage shop!
That’s a killer Hatachi CMS!

Great use of space! Wish I could afford a General for my shop. I'd love to have one of those. Thanks for the tour! Jim.

It took me a second to figure out what you were referring to. :D That thing is something my son found somewhere that he wants to make a project out of. I'm beginning to think he's forgotten about it though...

That useless space under the stairs actually is good for something! :D
