I have some oak burl slabs on the way.

1 1/2 to 2" thick that I would like to turn into table tops.

What is the consensus on how to dry these? DNA? Bag and wait?

They are sealed now and I have been advised to bag them. Periodically open the bag and scrape off some sealer and then rebag over the course of a year or two.

What say all you smart people on here?

Good luck with this one. Some oak will split no matter what you do to it. Others I've turned from green to finish and still no movement. I take it these are ones I saw posted on another frequented forum. If so I think I remember him stating they were Pin Oak.
