A piece of ash that I salvaged while cutting firewood. 12" at the widest and 4.5" tall at the middle. Sanded to 440, one coat of danish oil and lightly buffed.

I like the shape and the wormy add on. Ash borers? :)

Wow, that's incredible! I love the off round shape and the bug holes really make it interesting.

I really like that piece!! Ash and Elm are my favourite woods (so far) for turnings - the grains are spectacular and the barks make a super contrast to the wood without overpowering it (IMHO :)).

The worm holes (hopefully without worms :)) just add to the character!

Very nice NE Tom! Love the way you have it off-center! Nice looking grain, great bark and like already mentioned - the worm holes give it a lot of charactor! Seriously - very nice work!
