Mesquite and Blackwood. 5-1/4"W x 5-1/2"H. Sanded to 800, finished with SAC, and buffified.

All comments/critiques welcome as always.

Wow.That is one nice piece. The shape is very apealing, the finial is fenomenal and the finish looks great. Congrats for you beautiful work.

There aren't many things in this world that are perfect. But that's about as close to the perfect hollow form as you can get. Man that's nice! Also one of the best finials I've seen.

Great Neal! No offense to your to your hollow forms (which I like very much), but when you post I always dive in to look at the finial, yours are some of the best around!

Love the hollow form! Love looking at your work as you always set a great example of what hollow forms can be! Beautiful grain, form and finish! Your finials are always crisp, clean and detailed without being overly ornate!

You are developing quite a style of your own as I can just look at a photo of a piece and know that you turned it! Thanks for posting!

Alex, the finish on this was Seal-A-Cell (i.e. "SAC") and "buffified" has something to do with vampires.

Steve, thanks for the comment on the photo. This was taken with my new 50mm F/1.8D Nikkor. A very sharp little lens considering it's the cheapest one Nikon makes!
