I have an 18v 5 3/8" cordless Makita saw that I would like to find a better blade for cutting plywood for. (It currently has the OEM blade still on it.) The problem I've run into is that the arbor on this saw is 5/8" and it seems that most 5 3/8" saw blades come with a 10mm arbor size instead. Anyone have any idea where I might find a good plywood blade for this saw. Are there places that will bore a 10mm arbor hole out to 5/8" maybe?

Bob,

Try Oldham. I have the smaller Makita cordless and have been happy with the Oldham blades.

They are quite a bit less money than the Makita's . Most Home Depot's stock them

Thanks for the pointer Bill, but I don't see any 5 3/8" blades with 5/8" arbors there either. It would seem that Makita may have chosen the wrong arbor size (for owners at least) when they designed this particular saw. It doesn't seem to be a popular combination of blade and arbor sizes.

Though I didn't see it stated in the text, I think if you look close at the pictured saw blade you'll see that it says it has a 10mm arbor hole. This doesn't surprise me as DeWalt sells a 5 3/8" saw with a 10mm arbor. That's part of the trouble I've run into...many of the specifications listed for these saw blades don't list their arbor size. Even more confusingly, Amazon lists some Freud 5 3/8" blades and states that they're 5/8" arbor size in their title when they're really 10mm. In fact, I can't find any Freud blades of this size that don't have 10mm arbor holes.
