Last wed I had a local News crew (Tim Cable) come by my shop and do a little segment on Me and my turning.
Since 1990, Tim has hosted "Cable Country," a folksy feature-type segment profiling unique people in and around Northeast Tennessee, Southwest Virginia, and western North Carolina. Tim describes the segment as "a poor man's Charles Kuralt." Tim also anchors "NewsChannel 11 at Five" weekdays at 5:00 p.m.
It aired last night and he already has it up on his Blog, Here is a link so you can check it out.

That is so cool, and you did a great job with the interview. A natural in front of the camera. You can be the turners version of Norm.

Jim,

I'm very impressed with your composure on camera. You carry yourself well, speak with confidence, and, I think, left a great impression with the viewer. Marry that with your excellent work and I'd say you hit a grand slam. Congratulations!

Jim,

That is a great story. Well done by both the Talent and the staff!

Of course it's easy to see why they picked you. Bald woodturners are smarter and better looking than the average citizen.

Congratulations and well done Jim. I'm happy for you. I think of you every time I open my can of Rockler's Gel Poly...

I don't have to go to work and fire up the spray system and spend a couple hours trying to keep the laquer from running...

Wipe on, wipe off. Repeat tomorrow.

Thank You all for the nice comments!
I really enjoyed it, I love to demonstrate and try to do so whenever I get the chance. I think he did a great job using what he had to work with,
he was at my shop for around 3 hrs. Funny how 3 hrs worth of shooting condensed down to around a 5 min show, but Tim used all the right shots.
