It's been awhile since I've been able to get on here, so first, helllllllllllllllloooooooooo, I hope you all are doing great and life is treating you good!

Hey everyone, I am trying to locate a supplier of boxes for an odd size 4 X 4 X 1/2. I searched on the forum and found list of some suppliers for boxes, I've email them and I'm waiting for their replies. However, I was wondering if anyone had a cdr file where you can cut boxes out of cardboard?

I don't know that any of you even remember who we are or what we are doing. But if there are any of you that do, and you remember the coffee shop we've being praying for, well, it's right around the corner. We've managed to get our plumbing finished, just waiting for the permit. So keep us in you prayers.

Thanks guys for all the help you've always given.

Can't help you with the boxes, but I am so glad to hear that things are finally coming together for the coffee shop. I'm also glad to hear that you have been busy. Congratulations, and keep us posted.

I don't have one but it shouldn't be to difficult to find a fold down cardboard box and adjust the dimensions to suit.

The folds may be difficult but I wonder if you could cut the back at a very low power to just score through the first layer if using cardboard.

If you need a lot of them there are box manufacturers who can build them any size but you probably would need to buy in the thousands.

Grats on the shop, as a lowly public servant who has a career of night shifts, coffee is my friend.

Try jewelry box suppliers, They make near that size for necklesses and they are much more shallow than the norm.

Ricky had posted a picture of a neat box that he cut out. Here's the link (I hope this works!)...

Is this what you're talking about?

O.k. this is what I was afraid of, this is one of the replies I recieved . . .

In answer to your question below, we have boxes that are close to the
dimensions you are looking for. Our box styles: 904 & 665
measures
4x4x2. Style: 3 measures 4x4x3 2 pc expandable box.
Per my production dept... in order to get exactly the size you are
asking for: 4x4x1/2 a total of 90,000 would have to be ordered.

The other reply was sorry, this is what we've got. So now I have torn a box apart and looking at trying to make my own. If you guys knew me . . . you'd be rolling in the floor laughing at that.

Wish me luck.

Look online at www.uline.com (http://www.uline.com).

I buy lots of boxes there.

Look at http://www.uline.com/ProductDetail.asp?model=S-12384&ref=5604

This may be just what you need!

The 4 X 4 X 1 is the closest I've found, but I really want one that is .5 deep. I'll keep trying. Thanks!

are you looking for a 2 piece box or a corrugated box?

Either, one. I have the 4 X 4 X 2, five of my tiles fit into this box, I am looking for one for one tile at a time.

Would something like this pizza box work

The solid black lines are the blank and the dashed red lines are the folds. If you run this on .05 to .06 stock it should work.

I use this little software program to cut out matte board boxes.

I have done boxes that were 1/4" thick and it works great.

What a cool little program!!
But making boxes from even a thick card stock results in a lot of notches.. But it has great potential for bigger ones of thick material

How about a CD mailer - Uline has a 5.625" X 5 X 7/16" - for a single CD...:o

If you decide to go with the 90,000, I'll help out and buy 2 or 3... :D

Back to the size, what about... Well if you need 1/2 inch why not use a 1" box and add a small 1/2 pad which I'm sure you'll find cheaper that having custom boxes made. The luxury of the uline or similar products are that you can customize them with labels, laser cut a logo or ink pad print sn image and still come out ahead!

That's a good idea . . . and you are right it would be less expensive. I am still not giving up on making my own.

The pizza box almost worked but not quite. I think I need to get a little thicker cardboard and then I'll try again.

I let you all know if I come up with something.

Thanks everyone for all you ideas. If anyone comes up with more ideas please let us know.

If it was me I would buy the 4x4x1 box and use the laser to make a card insert tray like this to reduce the depth. That way the same box can double up to send out one or two tiles!
Here is the artwork if its any use to you. Sorry its not cdr I'm not in the office until Monday but it should import straight into Corel.

That should definitely work. Thanks, now to order the boxes.

Thanks again everyone.
