i found a great site for home made tools it is www.hdv.net (http://www.hdv.net) on the left click tools and tips .
i made a steady out of square steel tube,1/2 inch threaded rod, and rollerblade wheels from rollerblades that i found at the goodwill for $2.00. i had the steel tube and the threaded rod was about $10.00. the change i made to his design was that i put my 3 wheels on the outside of the steel tube. mine works great and is easy to adjust.and solid. you may want to look there to see if you like his and maybe get some other ideas. hope this helps tim in centerville , ohio
