Ok,
This time I was in a hurry and was typing out a website.
www.blahblahblah.........
Corel conveniently capitalized the first w and I couldn't
figure out how to default to WHAT I'M TYPING!
Why do these programs try to be smarter than the person typing? Excel does the same thing to me but I know how to fix it with Excel.
IMHO the default should be what I'm typing, shouldn't it?
Rant over.
So how do I set the default to what I'm typing?

Not sure if this is the easy way to get there, but it's where you need to be.

It's the Quick Correct feature you'll be looking for.

Pick -Text, Font List Options, then Workspace, text, Quick Correct.

I wonder if it's different on V12.
I found it under Tools/Options/ Text/ Quick Correct.
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction Scott.

FWIW, after it does that capitalization thing if you hit undo (ctrl+Z) it will undo only the caps and not apply it again.

Thanks Tony, so why it THAT the default instead of they way it's typed?

OK, new issue. Last night I was working on a drawing and I wanted to change the outline to red. Boom, done, object manager said so! Well, the line still looked black to me! No there wasn't 2 lines there, just one, apparently red but it was black????????????

I'm guessing I'm the only one that's had this problem?

Hey Brian!
The caps thing is related to quick correct as others had pointed out.

I can't think of a reason why object manager said that the outline was red but it did not update on the drawing windows (usually red outlines are red hairlines used for vector cutting).......it could depend on the zoom level and how thick the outline...I'm wondering if the status bar updated to say that the outline is red...

Thanks Tony,
I tried zooming and panning to see if that was it.
I think I even closed the drawing and reopened it.
I look again to see of the drawing is still this way
or if it changed. Seemed odd, never happened before.

Brian, I had a similar problem and Mike Mackenzie had a way to fix it. It's on the following thread. Hope it helps. http://sawmillcreek.org/showthread.php?t=75587
