A while back I was asking about a drill press. Well I finaly bought one. It's from Harbor Frieght and it's a heavy duty bench drill press with 16 speeds and a 13 inch swing. It has a 3/4 horse moter with speeds from 240 - 3600 and is about 125 lbs. Spindle stroke is 3 1/8.
It is listed at 194.00 on there web page. But I called there customer service and asked if it was on sale. They gave me a differant part number and said if I ordered direct I could get it for 149.00 with 12.00 shipping.

Dennis, I have an older model from the 1980's that has served me well.
You could barely buy the motor alone for that price.
I also have some cheap 9" models, some of which I just buy for the motor.
One I use for a tool sharpener with a 7" sanding disk.
Kevin Ryan of Ryan Guitars, uses a few of the small one at different stations in his shop. His work is immaculate.
I have noticed that HF usually has a few different models of the same 9" DP.
On some the runnout and slop is pretty bad, where on others, it's fine, so I usually mess with the spindle before I choose one.
