I'm going to install a hardwood floor, what is the best blade to use in my 10" miter saw?
Thanks
Dennis

Flooring can be tough on blades, so it's not a great application for an expensive blade, but you probably still want a good cut. Something with a triple chip grind (TCG) should hold up best. A blade like the Freud LU82 (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0000225UJ/ref=ord_cart_shr?%5Fencoding=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&v=glance) would be a logical choice, and should ring up at $26.89 after the 25% discount is applied just before confirming the order.

Holbren has the Oshlun 60T (http://www.holbren.com/product.php?productid=3737&cat=673&page=1) for ~ $25 shipped with "SMC10" code.

If the flooring is prefinished, then it is the finish that kills blades. Most contain aluminum oxide. This increases wear resistance. Sand paper is also made using aluminum oxide. I probably would go to HD and get a Freud Diablo forty tooth blade for $29.99. It represent good value and good performance. I just sent the one on my miter saw out for sharpening. It has been on saw for four years now. Once it is dull, Dynamic Saw (www.dynamicsaw.com) in Buffalo NY will sharpen it for $8.50 and freight.
