Earlier today I installed a couple of link belts on my no name, made in Taiwan, drill press. The difference in how smoothly the drill press now runs was quite noticeable. I actually didn't think it ran that roughly before I change over the belts but once installed the difference was obvious. I can't say if the difference will be as noticeable on your drill press but for me it definately was worth it to change out the stock belts and replace them with the link belts.

I am kicking myself for the last couple nights. I was on amazon and they had link-belts from Grizzly at half price!!! Only the 4' - 1/2" belts. I initially put 6 in the cart. Got all the way to check out, and decided I might get something else. So I decided to wait till the next day. You probably guessed it by now. Price was back to normal. Don't know if it was a computer glitch or a limited special. Could have gotten all the belts I needed for my other tools for half price. And missed it.:mad:

Not a mistake, right now the 3/8" belts are on sale half off.

I don't want to rub salt in the wound Ben but the 3/8" belts were also on sale at that time for $12.00 for a 4' length. I saw a thread here that mentioned the sale and that was all the shove I needed to place my order. The one thing that was a little different was the fact that the 3/8" belts are usually sold in 5' lengths according to the Griz catalog.

Don't feel bad, Grizzly cancelled my order. When I wrote to Amazon to ask what was up, they state that "Amazon Merchant listings are created by sellers other than Amazon.com (http://amazon.com/)." and that they will not honor the order once stock is available.

I would think they would have to honnor the price. Unless someone is changing it that is not supposed to be. The 1/2" ones were the same price the other day. It probably would have been cancelled too. But here it is again for 3/8".

For some strange reason I have an urge to pimp my drill press. I have been looking at Albrecht Keyless chucks and now this.

I have emailed Amazon and Grizzly, both. I am watching for it to show on sale again in 1/2" so I can order again.
