A few weeks ago I replaced A-28 belts for my Jet drill press with Link Belts. I now have a B-50 belt on my bandsaw that I would also like to replace with a Link Belt. Both belts look as though they are 1/2", but the B might be a tiny bit larger. What is the difference between the A and the B in the belt name?

How did the link belts work out on the drill press?

How did the link belts work out on the drill press?

I just finished about a half an hour ago installing a couple of link belts on my no name made in Taiwan drill press. The difference in how smoothly the drill press now runs was quite noticeable. I actually didn't think it ran that roughly before I change over the belts but once installed the difference was obvious. I can't say if the difference will be as noticeable on your drill press but for me it definately was worth it to change out the stock belts with the link belts.

The link belts worked well on the drill press, and my jointer for that matter. It significantly reduces vibration and are really easy to install.
