I need a mobial stand for a steel city drill press the base size is 12.5X20. I am concerned since the drill press is top heavy and not that stable putting it onto a flimsey stand will make it worse. Can anyone recomend a good stand.

Honestly, a small hand truck is probably just as effective as anything and when you are done, the machine is resting on the floor.

That said, I use a "universal mobile base" for my Jet DP. It's worked fine, but if I were doing it again, I'd put the DP on a double piece of plywood to create a much larger foot-print and then make that mobile with the base. More stable that way.

I have a HTC2000 base under mine. I don't generally like the base but it is working just fine . It seems to be very stable.
