This is one of the latest pieces that I have got finished. The wood was found at a city lot and I have no clue what it is. Finished with danish oil and satin wipe on poly. Critique away please. it is 9"x5 1/2" with a 1 1/4" foot.

Really like the form and the wood. Great job! I think they refer to it as FOG Wood (found on ground:D).

It could be anyone of several woods. It is too nice to spend time on other than enjoying what has been created. :D:D

dumb dumb its maple i have tons of it here sitting in my driveway as chunks and sitting in my feild as 5 logs i cut down the maple this summer the base was about 3 or 4 ft and split into 6 turns nice it has that pink and gray collor in somespots just like some maple does...... when you roughed it did the non-smoth edges throw splinters that hurt ur hand?

Very unique, Ryan. I like it very much....particularly the utilization of the irregular surface.

I would second the call on maple. I have turned a lot of it that is in that color spectrum. I wonder what caused the cavity in that one side. Doesn't look burned like lightening. Hmmmm.

Don't know about the wood, but you've done a beauty of a job with it. I love that form with the natural edge. The thin walls make it look even nicer.

Thank you for all the great feed back. the wood wanted this shape with the void in the natural edge, so I only did what I was told. Though the foot was my idea.
