I just received my new Work Sharp 3000 from Amazon. I bought two packs of 6" PSA abrasive discs as WS accessory items, but the price is quite high. I will be using my WS 3000 primarily for chisels and small plane irons. For those folks that have experience with the WS 3000, I have a couple of questions:

What abrasive grits do you use most?

Where do you buy them?

It seems that once your chisels are sharpened, touching-up would be done with finer grits. I can find the coarser grits in small quantities at Klingspor, but what about the finer grits?

I'm a new WS3000 owner too. This might work:

My company has a metelergical lab. They use tons of fine micro paper. I'm going to try to find their supplier. I'll post it if I find out.

(Plus we need someone to make a die/cutter for th vision abrasives.)

Home Depot sells Norton 6" (no center hole) PSA in 40, 80 and 120 - the back of the package says that (180, 200 or 220 - I forget) and 320 are available -but they weren't available when I looked (possibly just temporarily sold out).

The 6" paper is ever so slightly larger than the paper Worksharp sells.

I've found Norton 6" PSA up to about 400 in large (100 piece) lots for about $40. Still looking for smaller quantity and higher grits.
