Hello group. I've been reading the messages for a couple of weeks and really enjoy all of your turning reports, critics, news, etc.. Very nice work out there!
I consider myself a serious turner. I recently upgraded to a PM 3520B, which I like a lot. I want to interact with the group. Here's a shot of a 28 inch poplar platter I'm working on ..if I uploaded it correctly, if not, I'll keep trying ..Regards from Tom in southern Ohio

Welcome to the creek. Great lathe for sure. If you resize the pic to something smaller you maybe won't get the square fuzzies in it. Looks like a fun piece of poplar. I think I'd be wearing a face mask if I was turning a big piece like that. ;)

Welcome to the Creek Tom, looks like you have a lathe that is up to the task. That blank is large enough to produce quite a platter, look forward to seeing pictures.

Thomas,

Nice lathe and really big platter. What are you using for an outboard tool rest?

Good looking outboard rig! How much space did you leave between end of the lathe ways and start of the outboard ways?

Hey Tom,
How about a little Frog Ranch salsa to go with those chips?
