Well maybe? I just bought a Harbor Freight 2hp DC from a fellow worker for $50 (the gloat:D). I know the hp is overrated and really about 1.5hp. I have a few questions for you all.

1. He had trouble with it kicking out his breaker. Do you think a dedicated 15a circuit will work or do I need a 20a?

2. I'm going to replace the filter bags before using based on what I have read around here. I'm looking at PSI 1 micron bags ($75), HF 1 micron cannister filter w/ paddle ($170), or the 0.5micron cannister from Wynn ($120ish). Does anyone have any experience with the HF cannister? The Wynn doesn't have a cleaning paddle so how do you guys clean it?

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks, Dale

Dale I have a 20 amp dedicated breaker for my HF DC. I also have the Wynn Filter and they told me just to tap it lightly when it is off. So far no problems.

Hey Bernie, sent you a PM as well. Do you remember which style of filter listed below you got from Wynn.

Farr style 9L300BL $73
35A Polyester spun $136
35A Blend $95

thanks, Dale

The HF DC site http://www.cianperez.com/Wood/WoodDocs/WoodNet%20HFDC%20Thread%20FAQs.htm
reports 14.5 amps in use. I use a 20 amp circuit.

I got lucky with a 6 foot felt 1 micron bag from Rockler on sale for $25 as they were discontinuing carrying them I believe. I now am able to use plastic bags on the bottom.
