I am working on a walnut bowl that had a couple of cracks which I filled with ca clue and sawdust before I started sanding. The sanding removed the ca glue stain, but also uncovered some of the crack that still has a void. What do you all use to prevent the staining that will occur when I try to fix these voids?
Thanks,
Steve

Either very careful adding of CA,or much more sanding is my expierance. in the future try sanding dust, or coffee grounds and press into the void before adding CA. Just finished a Maple bowl that I filled a crack in, and thats the route I had to go. Amazing how deep that CA stuff can penetrate maple.

You might try 5 minute epoxy mixed with walnut stain. It'll make it look like grain.Tape around it and work it into the crack. BTW stain & CA don't mix.
