Saw a tutorial of how to make a wood pen clip, so I tried it out. The barrels are purplheart with a birch veneer wave (I can't see it in the picture), center band is birch, and clip is birch. Only parts I used from the kit were the barrels, tip, and twist mechanism. Now I have to work on making my own pen tips. I think I saw this in the tutorial also.

Thanks for looking!

Ben,

That's great work. I wish that I could hold it in my hands.

Great job on a great pen Ben. Wonder how the wood clip will hold up?

Keep going, You'll have an almost total wood pen before you're through! It looks good.

The clip is acutally 3 layers of veneer laminated together. It feels super strong. What I'm worried about is the joint between the clip and the upper barrel. I roughed it up and used medium CA. It's holding up so far, so we'll see. Now... how to make a wood twist mechanism! :D

I think the biggest challenge would be a wooden refill....
