Double Bagging your DC?

I have an older 1 hp DC and it only has a 5 micron upper bag. I have recently purchased a 1 micron bag and was wondering, since it will fit, if it was worthwhile to double bag it.

I read in a DC review last month that the 1 micron bags actually improve suction....so I'm hoping double bagging will increase filtration without bogging it down.

Any opinions on this?

The 5 micron on the inside will allow the 1 micron to last longer as it will not have to filter everything greater than 5 micron. But for every filter put inline there will be a reduction in airflow. Airflow is the basis for all dust collection. I read the DC review about the 1 micron bag as well. I don't see how changing from a 5 to 1 micron bag alonne can improve airflow or dust collection. There muct be something else in the construction of the bags that provided the difference in performance.
