Glad to oblige Barry!

This was a neat small project that I did for a customer to wrap a steel basement support pole. I made it to match the doors that I had replaced in the finished basement. I really enjoyed making this piece. It was painted white to match the windows that we installed.

At installation the base was wrapped with 3.5 inch baseboard and a small cove was placed at the top. It was proportioned to fit under a drywall enclosed duct chase.

I will post a installed pic when I can.

Great job Tim, I really like the raised panels. If the support pole looks that good, the rest of the basement will need to be pretty classy or it will look out of place. Thanks for the pictures. I need something to get me wired up on these non-woodworking days. Barry Bruner

That looks great scott! I like the contrast on the dark top and the legs. Two questions: What type finish did you use? and how are the verticle spindles attached in the leg frames?

Thanks!

Thanks Barry. The basement looks great with new baseboards, replaced all luaun flat doors with molded panels, changed sliding doors in 2 closets to hinged 30" opening with closet organizers. And the neat thing , I made a triple sliding door setup and used special guide pins in the floor. The kitchen bar area is in the process of being changed, new countertop and sink. I have a little drywall repair left to do when they finish.

Bill, that is a great looking entertainment center and I really like the molding, it really sets it off. By the way, that is a great looking buck on the wall as well. I use to be as crazy about dear hunting as I am woodworking but now my back does not cooperate with my hunting anymore. I am glad about asking for the pictures. There sure has been some great pictures posted. I have had to go to the grandkids birthday parties the last couple of weeks and I am really wanting get started woodworking now. Barry Bruner

Barry, there are likely thousands of threads with project pictures at SMC. many that not only include finished work, but also the steps along the way from the start of those projects. And very soon, Contributors will get some additional features, one of which will be a more formal "photo gallery".

Well, Barry, it's only a small little thing that I turned out in two days, but it's the most recent thing I have done. I had a few days in between cabinet building for our sons kitchen and I needed to build yet another red oak with walnut inlay picture frame for an autographed lithograph I recently acquired at an auto racing exposition in Atlantic City,NJ. This joins nine or ten other picture frames of the same design that reside on the walls of my bar room here in my home in Ringoes,NJ.

This is a picture of the tabletop shuffleboard game I made my son for Christmas. It's birch ply with walnut trim and inlay. He loves it!!

My most recent project - a king sized headboard to match the East Lake style bedroom furniture we have. I hinge mounted two adjustable twin beds on rollers so they could be pivoted out in order to make the bedding.

Interesting post Barry - I have also sometimes wished people would post more pictures of their work. Although there are many threads showing finished work and some with step by step progress pics, most members choose to use the forum to exchange technical ideas and solve problems. Not that there's anything wrong with that. But I've often wondered too, "don't these guys ever MAKE anything?"

Hans, I am amazed at how many people responded to my plea to see some pictures and also how many visited the post. Now I feel bad not being able to reply to each and everyone of them but I have truely enjoyed reading them and getting to see how the projects ended up and they all ended up great. I have thought of myself as an average woodworker and now after seeing all the pictures, I am beginning to wonder, because everthing I have seen is way beyond what I have been turning out. Thanks for everyones reply. I have enjoyed everyone of them. Barry Bruner

Hi Barry, I am glad that you enjoyed the pics, but don't think twice about the quality of your work, I get paid to do some woodworking, but do not consider myself a professional woodworker. I do love woodworking :) and will never stop. But I still grab a 2x4:eek: and hack out a jig or table leg sometimes.:p

I would also like to see a section devoted to the jig making ( with pics:D) as opposed to a finished section , also with pics!

Happy woodworking!
