I recently found an article in a catalog on how to measure, drill, and mount the various type of hinges. Does anyone know if there is a quick reference out there on how to determine drawer slide length versus the drawer size versus the cabinet depth?

Thanks in advance.

I don't know of any hard and fast rule on drawer box depth but from my experience when using partial extension slides the depth of the box will normally be 2" less that the cabinet, for example most kitchen cabintets are 24" with 22" deep boxes, vanities are normally 21-22" I usually use 18" deep boxes. This allow toom to use the rear mounting brackets. In shallower cabinets I normally use full extension slides which allow for a deeper box and use the longest one that will fit inside the cabinet, I normally mount these directly to the cabinet sides using filler material if necessary.
