Well I just got arround to make one. Now I have to find someting to use it. I found this brass fitting at Lowes, it has thick walls so it seems to be good for the (furule) is that how you call it? I drilled 2 holes, cut the treads and that is about that. Turn an ugly handle and rout a groove to accept the blade.
Lets see how it works now.
What is the recommended overhung for the blade?

Looks good! And a nice picture!

I'd start with the tip out about 1/2" and the lathe at about 500 rpms. If the pattern is to close together, slow the lathe down or pull the tip out further. You get the pattern. Sounds like algebra.

that is a lot nicer looking handle than the pair of visegrips I used last time.:o
