Should I buy this old Rockwell 17-600 drill press

I talking with this gentleman about his drill press. He wants to sell it for 150, and said it runs great. it on craiglist in Macon, ga

Anyone have an opinion on it? seem so cheap I could fix it up and have a good solid drill.

That is a fine drill press, and better than anything you'll find at Home Depot. Good American iron. Go for it. I can't quite make out what is going on in the pic- is the cover missing? Anyway, if is functional and complete, yes. The older the better.

It's probably gone already.

If it's operational with nothing broken it's a good deal. Check for damage though because parts may be hard to come by.
