I got a Makita LS1221 for Christmas. On it's maiden voyage I was cutting a short piece and it wedged in the cut and damaged the subfence. After emailing Makita the pictures and several discussions on the phone, they decided to fix the saw at their cost.

Now, this is above and beyond because they did point out that the accident could/should have been avoided by using the hold-down that comes with the saw. None-the-less, I took my saw in, they had already ordered the parts, and I had it back in two days.

Thank you Makita. In this day and age, it is rare to find a company so committed to their customers.
