I've had my G1029 for over 15 years and up til now had great service from it. Lately, I've noticed the motor makes an ocsillating sound as if it's unbalanced. I took the housing cover off and the impeller's clean as a whistle. I'm thinking maybe it's a blown bearing. Anyone have any ideas?

Can't help, but I have the same model and probably close to the same age, maybe 10+ years. I bought it used and it pulls great, but it seem a little out of balance as well. The fins on it are clean as well. Mine might have a different issue just because its been moved and used by someone else...but I'll still be interested to see what others think about yours and I'll check mine based on their feedback.

10 - 1 it's bearings. Simple enough to replace and probably cost you less than $10 for both.

Probably the bearings, but before you take it all apart check the impeller to make sure it's tight on the shaft.

I've got the same unit and twice found the impeller loose on the shaft.
