View Full Version : Looking for a Sharpening Service recommendation

I have a couple of saw blades, router bits and jointer knives that I would like to get sharpened, but I would like to go with somebody that I can trust will do a good job the first time.

I am not at all opposed to sending them out, but if there is a good service nearby, then I would prefer that. (I live in metrowest MA).

Assuming that even the most expensive sharpening services are considerably less than new cutting tools, then I'm more than willing to pay a premium for a quality job.

Any recommendations?

Thanks!

-Chris

I would first ask around for a local, recommended sharpener. It's sure a lot easier than sending your blades to another state. It's also nice to support your local small business owner. You might try fellow woodworkers or a woodworking club.

If you can't find a good local sharpener, the suggestions posted thus far would be good options since they come with experience.

I just sent a couple of blades to Scott and am very pleased with the service.

Scott does a great job.

John the owner of Ridge Carbide called me yesterday and is looking for new business. He has an incredible shop and does a great job too.
