I know I should know this, but what is DNA and how is it used? (Sorry, I'm kind of new at this)

DNA denatured alcohol.
And is this used to assist in drying the stock? Can anyone point me to some information on this?
(And thanks, Ken)

Primary use for me is cutting shellac. Turners use it to soak things at some stage of the process(?).

Take a look at Dennis Peacock's (creeker) website.
www.beautifulwood.net (http://www.beautifulwood.net) . He explains the whole method very nicely.
Hope you don't mind me posting this, Dennis.

Fantastic, thanks to all of you for your time and the information. I'll stop and get some DNA on the way home tonight.
