I have the Milwaukee 5616 (2.25 hp) in my router table with a router lift. I would like a little more power for raised panels, so I am considering getting the 5625 (3.5 hp). Does anyone know if the shaft sizes are the same for the 2 routers? Will the 5625 fit in my existing router lift for the 5616? My lift is the Rosseau 3004. I've looked everywhere I can find online and cant find any answers. Does anybody have both and know? Thanks

It will not. That 3.5hp router is quite a bit thicker.

If you'd gone from the 5615 (1.75hp) to the 5616 (2.5hp) you'd have been fine. But not the next step up.

Are you in a production environment where you really NEED the horsepower for taking a big cut? That 2.5hp has plenty of power to raise panels in 2-3 passes. If you wanna do it in 1-2 passes, there's always vertical panel raisers, too. Just some food for thought :)

Thanks Jason, that answers my question. I think I will just stick to my current router and make more passes.

FWIW, I just measured the shaft on my 5625. It is 4.15" in diameter.
