I have been wanting to build myself a pocket hole machine. the clamp down one was wearing my arm out with all the drilling.
I built this one by taking a clamp down jig (15 degree angle) and inserting it into a plywood top, then making a foot lever with a pully system to move the drill up to drill the hole. This one may not look as pretty as the real kreg machine, but it works great. I have cut about 60 holes so far with more to come with the next projects to come.

Chuck -
That is slick - nice!
Could you take a few more close up photos so I can study - and hear your details?

or maybe a tutorial with complete drawings and hints.

No sense in reinventing the wheel. I could find a place for one of those.

Nice Job!! This would be a good one for the "anybody built any of their own machinery" thread. Like the others, more details and copious pictures would be wonderful:).

Sorry about not posting more info. I really thought I might get more laughs than questions. I have used it on another project and it works great. I will try to take some pictures this weekend as I am out the door to Joplin, MO to deliever some custom leaded glass panels for a customers new cabinets.
