OK, the tool gloat thing is new to me, but I'm happy to participate. :D
Last week, I sold my beloved Aprilia RS250 racebike, which although very special to me, had no real practical reason to remain in my garage now that I'm not racing and I don't expect to instruct at any track days this year... So, I needed to put some of it away for Mr. Tax man, but I was able to keep a little to take advantage of some very good deals.
First, on Friday I picked up Joe Unni's 8" Grizzly Jointer.
Then I had the good fortune of finding a couple of deals on Craigslist that I just couldn't pass by.. A Delta Mortising Machine for $100 and a Dewalt 735 planer nearly brand new for $275! :eek:
I even tried to cap it off by buying that cherry wood that I mentioned last week, but when I stopped at the guy's house.. it was 160 linear feet, not board feet as advertised, and its useable width was only about 4.5". As best I figured, there was about 50 board feet.. I offered him $140, but he wasn't interested. Time to go visit Highland Hardwoods, I guess!
