Purple heart and Curly Maple Card box

Just wanted to share my first box attempt. I made it for a friend that I play cards with often. My fist time using purple heart also. I used a couple coats of shellac, then sanded and had a friend spray lacquer on it. First time trying the barrel hinges also. I really like them though. Open for comments.

Very nice, I really like the contrast between woods and the splines break up the tiger maple very nicely.
