There is an outlet mounted in the cabinet where the router is. This outlet is energized by a switch mounted on the outside of the cabinet to the right. This switch is powered from an extension cord you plug in. Now I do not have one of those fancy things you can draw diagrams with but will explain the colors and wiring. The extension cord to the switch has a black and a white and a green. Use another piece of extension cord to go from the switch to the receptacle. Connect the white wires together so that it is continuous to the receptacle and place it on the silver screw. Take the black wire from the extension cord you power up with and place it on one terminal of the switch. Place the black wire from the reptacle and place it on the other terminal of the switch and the other end on the gold terminal of the recptacle. Now pitail a green wire from the green screw on the receptacle and the green wire from the extension cord and a short tail from a screw holding the box ( sometimes they have a green grounding screw in the box) Do the same at the switch and you are good to go. Make sure all wire are tight. Make sure you do not have strands of wires hanging out from under the screws. Better if you use stakons to make those connections And wrap some electrical tape arond the conecction before installing in the box. Remember always unplug from the wall when working on electrical and unplug from receptacle in cabinet when changing bits on router. Hope this helps.
