I'm building some chairs and will be upholstering the seats with foam and leather or fabric depending on the cost. What stapler would you recommend? I have a compressor so air powered is not a problem. I will be using 1/2 inch plywood for the seat bottom.

I use a BeA 3/8 in. stapler. It does a great job. Previously, I use a Senco. This one is much better--does not misfire. New ones are bit pricey, but there are some reconditioned ones on ebay for a very reasonable cost. These are the best you can get. Ben

The PC US58T2 will shoot 1/4 and 5/8" staples very adequately. Dick B.

You need something with a wider crown than the typical pneumatic stapler used for woodworking. I have seen a PC, I believe, at Coastal Tool in that format.

Jim, That's the one I refered to above. Dick B.

I have the Paslode upholstery stapler from HD. I've used it a lot, and it works very well for me.

I use the Senco upholstery gun. It shoots fine wire staple which can be difficult to find at the BORG, so you have to hit up either the internet, or an upholstery supply place. Because it's fine wire, they're easier to hide.

Thanks for the info everyone. There are a bunch of used BeA's on the big auction site and a variety of other brands available at various tool sellers on the internet. I checked at my local Borg and as usual they don't carry anything even close. Guess I have some shopping to do.

Thanks again.

My wife did 6 chairs with the PC US58 with no problems. I use it for making torsion boxes. It works well for holding the ribs together.
