Wood Joints

In my quest for world domination, I've decided to build an army to carry out my commands. I've got a prototype leg built ( at this rate it may take awhile). I'm using a piece of hardwood dowel for the joints, but I'd like to keep everything laser cut. Can you think of a pivot joint made out of flat stock? It need to be a friction fit so it can stand on it's own.

With care the socket could be engraved so that the joint would not show
