View Full Version : My Third and Fourth Pens

You may wonder what happened to the first and second ones: the first one is pretty vanilla, and the second one is my father's possession. Here are tries number three and four. If anyone has any comments (good or bad :)) I'd love to hear them!

The top one is Box Elder Burl (if I recall correctly), and the bottom one is Spalted Big Leaf Maple. They were turned on my Delta Midi and sanded to 1500. I wiped with mineral spirits to remove the dust, and then I then finished with some manner of turning finish. The pen kits are Rockler's flat top roller ball.

Thanks,
Brett

Brett,

Those are some very nice pens. The spalted maple is my favorite of the two.

Brett those are some mighty fine looking pens. I really can't say which one I like better. Well done.

Hi Brett,
Nice wood ( specially the box elder ) well crafted, but I don't like the shape of them.
Specially the maple one isn't my cup of tea at all.
