That is one nice shop you have built. I like your layout, your DC, and of course the bench. Thanks for sharing it with us.:)

Terry,

What a well designed space! It's easy to see all the though and planning that went into it. Is it always this clean?

Hi Terry,
Great looking shop. Nobody is supposed to have a shop like that after only 2 years of wood working. Thanks for sharing the pictures with us and keep up the good work.

I'm planning my own shop to be built next spring at our new home. I'm planning on 36' X 40' with an upstairs office/storage area. SWMBO insists that I "plan for the future" and put in all of the perks I want now, that I might want later. I currently don't do a lot of flat work, but want to get into it when I have a space big enough. The cyclone, lighting, heating, AC, duct work, mats and storage areas are all points I'm planning, and of course ... the Recliner! I also have drawn up a bathroom and a reserved spot for the fridge. Your set up looks great and I'm sure I'll beg, borrow or unfortunately steal a lot of your ideas. Thanks for the tour, it helped me visualize a lot of the things I want to do. The main bench is fantastic! I hope to be able to make one similar to it. Thanks again.

Its clear that you have put in a lot of time and effort into your shop. I am guessing that anyone of us would love to have the same setup you have put together. Great Job.

Great tour Terry ---- You better not get rid of that recliner - I remember drinking BL there and when I come back it better still be there or I will burn you house down

What a wonderful shop. How did you manage to put that together in only 2 years of wood woodworking? If I had that shop I wouldn't need a house, except for maybe the wife and kids.

Hi Terry, That is quite a great shop. You guys in AR know how to do it right. One of these days I'll get a good layover in LIT so I can stop up for visit.
Take care,
John

I was in Terry's shop at Christmas time and it looks like it did then.

I don't think he does any work in it. He keeps the doors locked and just lets some take a peek into it when company
comes!!!!!!!!!!

I think he does keep the DC going all of the time so dust doesn't settle on the "furniture"

HI HI HI HI

See ya around the corner at Christmas time, if the Lord is willen and the creek doesn't rise.

Do you have a Guest Room? or do you have to let company into the house? I like the shop. Got cable TV out there? Is there plenty of knee room in front of the appliance? I'll be there this Spring takin' notes.

Wow! That shop is to nice to actually do any woodworking. Maybe, you should just conduct tours.

All kidding aside, you've created a great shop. I like your choice of machinery , not the most expensive but very nice stuff. The dust collection looks very good.

Thanks for posting,
Jim

Thanks everyone for you kind comments. I have spent a bunch of time trying to get it right.

Jim...Yes!!!! I like it clean. I have a big compressor that I forgot to put in the tour. duh.. I basically just open all the doors and start blowing at the end of each day.

Mike....There are a couple of houses on my street for sale. Come to Ark and buy one!!!!

Grandpa..er Ken S. I would never dream of getting rid of "your" shop chair. It'll be here for you buddy!!!!

Tim...I have just been totally engulfed by woodworking and the shop. I have been acused of being a "shopaholic". I have read every book , magazine and forum I could find since I started wwing. I am well known at the local library!!!!

Richard...I'll send you the deminsions for the MS hood by e-mail in a little bit.

Randy....Doesn't everyone have a recliner in the shop?????

John...Let me know if you are in this end of the world. You are always welcome in my shop/home.

Ken F. .....Look forward to seeing you again this Xmas. BTW...you saw my furniture...in the house I mean so you know I actually work in the shop!!!!

Zack....No TV in the shop....too distracting. We do have one in the house and we usually let the company stay in the house also....If you want to sleep in the shop you can. Come and see me!!!

Terry,
That is one of the best looking shops that I have ever seen! You are da man!

That was a great tour. I must have been a lot of work putting it together. I think Dennis should put a tour together for each of us!

Great shop, Terry. Nice to see that you can find anything due to your organization.

Todd Burch
03-06-2003, 9:58 PM
But I'm not jealous - mine certainly isn't ANYWHERE that organized. Why am I not jealous - YOU'RE ABNORMAL!! Something is just not right about you Terry.

You know what they say in Corporate America - A clean desk is the sign of a SICK mind!!

Todd.

Oh, and Ken Frantz - you got the saying off just a little bit. It's not "and the creek doesn't rise", like as in water/creek, but it's "and the Creek don't rise."

Hank Williams Senior was referring to the Creek Indian Nation, rising in protest.

Terry,

that is one fine shop you've got there. Obviously took a lot of planning to get it that right.

I think my favorite machine is . . . . . .

. . . . . . . . . . . . .. .. .. ... ......
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . .... .... . . . . . The Recliner :D

Great tour Terry! I thought your shop was great back in Oct. at the BBQ. Looks even better now. Bench still looks great. Thanks for tour.

Terry,

I build a box like that to increase the height of my lathe also, but I failed to allow for a toe kick. I wound up going back and making a toe kick for my size 14 teens. Doesn't your box get in the foot path?

You any kin to Dusty Roads? :D

No realtion to Dusty!!!!????........... other that we are both chubby rednecks.

I have not noticed and trouble with the lack of tennie room. I haven't had much time to turn so maybe it's too early to really know. I have mostly just turned pens since I built the box. I will just chop one out if I need one.
