Well folks, just got home from work and Don's DVD was sitting in my mailbox.
Supper will have to wait.

Having watched the video 3 times already, it only whets my appetite to watch it 10 more times. I have been "using" molding planes for many years and never felt confident that I was correct in my methods. Watching Don using planes is seeing a professional at work. I hadn't even considered many aspects of molding plane use before; I just grabbed the plane and pushed it along the board.

In addition to seeing Don's techniques, you get to see several Clark & Williams planes "in action". Finally, I am getting a basic understanding of laying-out moldings as shown by Chippendale. And I now know the "why and how" of snipe bill planes. I've owned a pair for years, just didn't know what to do with them.

Hopefully, the "THE BASICS" in the dvd title means more dvds to follow.
