I have an 8" Rockwell/Delta jointer that I am going to have to tune up. I never got a manual with it when I bought it used about 20 years ago. The fence seems to be warped and I am going to investigate that tomorrow.
My question is can I find a manual online? I am not too good at understanding directions when they talk about gibs, ways etc and I need something to see before I start. I can find no plate with a serial # on the machine.
Thank you.

Jerry: I doubt you could find an online manual for a machine that old, but a manual from any jointer of that style should work. Theres very little difference between different brands in your style of jointer. I have a manual for a powermatic 8" that I could scan and send you, but perhaps someone has one for a delta product. What you don't want is a manual for a parrellelogram type. The old fashioned kind is what you have. Possibly some manufacturers have theres online for their newer models which would work fine too.

Try the "Publications Reprints" over at OWWM.com. There are quite a few for D/R jointers.

You can view manuals and parts diagrams in a pdf format for free at the dewaltservicenet.com website for any Delta equipment going back many many years. I use the site all the time for my older Delta and Delta/Rockwell equipment. All you need to know is the model number and in some cases serial number to get the right version of your jointer. Plus you can immediately see what parts are still available, what the costs are, etc. Even equipment that has long been discontinued or that no one even remembers Delta and Delta/Rockwell making is there. It takes some figuring how to use the site since it isn't incredibly user friendly, but once you figure it out is it a goldmine of information. It is an excellent resource and apparrently mostly unknown. If you strike out at dewaltservicenet.com, OWWM is also another good source as stated above and like SawmillCreek, I've supported OWWM with my $$ contributions as well just for that reason.

I just ran a quick search at dewaltservicenet.com for a model 37-315 which is a Delta/Rockwell 8" jointer and sure enough the manual, the parts diagrams and everything is there, so you should have success with your as well.
