yesterday a guy that sells wood to turners and recycled wood called ,e and told me he had some Eastern Rock Maple for .75 a bd ft, surfaced to 15/16, thet catch was they were from anywhere from 2-4 inches wide and all were 49 in long. Well I though that sounds just right for face frames, draw fronts and pic frames.
So I went by today, got 98 Bdft approx for $70 an 40 bdft of cherry for $20. So $90 and I got all this!
I figure in lumber yard it would of cost me 700 plus tax.

Maybe I will do my kitchen cabs with them.

Thanks , I should show the cabinet I built for underneath it 2 weeks ago. It sits on skids. So when I lift the saw with the roller wheel handle it comes with it.

I guess I will have enough frame maple for some time now.

Yeah, you did. If he has more, I'd go back. You could glue up a bunch of that maple for a very nice bench top.

Problem is there only 49 inches long.

I was thinking the same thing an wondering if a bench top could be made with the boards like that running from side to side rather from end to end.

Yes, when you get a chance I would like to see the cabinet you built and the saw. Thanks.

Great Deal on that beautiful wood!

Yeah, that would be pretty short. Still - rock solid small assembly table?

I seem to have benches on the brain lately.
