:confused:I was wondering if anyone out there new what the price would be on a new laser tube. Looked at an Epilog yesterday, and was wondering how much the tube actually cost. Salesman didn't know. Thanks

If the salesman did not know - it is time to look somewhere else!

New tubes I believe start at about $5,000 and quickly work their way up as power increases.

I was told a Synrad 40W tube would be $4200 + shipping for a new tube without a core.

It depends on what size and kind and where you buy from. I think the Chinese tubes start at about $50

New tube or to have a tube replaced? Two very different questions.

Last time I checked the tube for my Epilog 45 watt had dropped to $1,100. Contact Epilog tech support Monday, they are the ones that sell tubes, not the local sales people.

I am getting ready to send 4 Very Old Laser Cores to a place in Ohio that does Refurb on Lasers. The tubes are from the Very Old Mistergram and ALT Laser I had for parts. He is giving me $150.00 per core.

A replacement from him is $5000.00 for this model. I don't use them anymore.

Connie,

Like Scott said there are brand new replacement Laser tubes and then there are re processed laser tubes. The brand new one will not include the first set of optics that all laser engraving systems need.

If the sales guy does not know the price for recharge then he should get educated. This is something that comes up every time someone is looking at the laser engravers.

Al,

You are very lucky to get rid of those tubes even at that price those are all AC tubes and are no longer supported or built.
