Thanks for the Well-wishes! I am not a prolific poster but do check in almost every day. That was very considerate of you to pass on your good wishes. I am 42 today. Hard to believe how fast the time goes. Hopefully the set of six pairs of plantation shutters I am working on will be done before number 43. (I am sure the LOML is hoping so too.)

I've got plantation shutters on my to do list. Any advice to share?

I have only just rough cut the rails and stiles for two windows. I hope to resaw the wood for the 24 louvers needed for these four shutters this weekend. After that I will plane the louvers to a double taper on each side. I'll let you know how it goes. If I am happy with the results for these two, I will make all the peices for the remaining 8 shutters all at one time.
