Newbie here....
Does anyone mail order hardwood stock. I'm halfway through a project and ran short of 5/4 curly maple. My local suppliers are out.
I'm located in Maine. Can anyone recommend reliable suppliers?

I need to finish out 2 boards 20" x 4" x 1". So I need about 4000 board feet!
Seriously what size(s) do you have? Strong figure?

I have all kinds... i bought about 1000 bf of it for $230 at an auction in machias (two loads in my GMC) i practically spent more in gas to get it than i did on the wood... it is all at least 6/4 some up to 12/4.
but also another source to check is www.premiumspecialtyhardwoods.com they are in Rumford, lots of birdseye and they do have some curly too. i go there about twice a year to stock up.

Jim, where's that place you got your Maple from for your end tables? That was some very nice stuff.

Bill, the figured maple came from Wherungs Specialty Woods (http://www.wehrungsspecialtywoods.com/index.html) in Ottsville, PA. I don't know if they ship, however. Honestly, however, the OP lives literally in the heart of figured maple country! I can't imagine that all of the more local sources are "out"...

Duncan,
I have found great looking maple here http://www.goosebaylumber.com/, although it is a bit of a drive from Bangor.
